In addition to the books and other creative projects, I write music under the name Andreas Espenes. The songs are based on stories, feelings and thoughts that I want to put into words and melody.
Honest lyrics and emotional melodies
My music often begins with a thought, a feeling, or a story that I want to put into words. It can be something close and personal, or something that many people can identify with.
For me, songwriting is about finding the words for things that aren't always easy to say out loud, and combining them with melodies that can enhance the emotion in the story.
That's why lyrics are an important part of the music I make. The goal is for the songs to be able to hit the mark, tell something, and maybe stay with me a little after they're finished.
Some stories work best when they have a melody.
